Sally Goodin’ (Appalachian): Score: parts & audio track (levels 2.5-3)

SKU: SallyGoodin-s Category:

“Sally Goodin’,” an Appalachian tune, is very popular among fiddlers. Many of today’s players in this style, use a recording by fiddler Eck Robertson as their inspiration because, unlike most Appalachian fiddlers, he recorded the melody and followed it with twelve unique variations. Fiddle tunes generally only last a minute, thus the need to repeat each tune a handful of times His recording for the Smithsonian lasted over four minutes for that one tune. Thus, we can think of Eck Robertson as the predecessor to soloing in the bluegrass style.
